Terms of use

These terms govern your use of No Clean Slate (nocleanslate.com), run by AWOL PRESS LLC, an Oregon limited liability company ("we", "us"). By using the site or buying access, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

The service

No Clean Slate is a reference companion to the book No Clean Slate. It lists country entry rules and U.S. state registration rules, each with the date it was last verified. Some features are free. Others, such as filters, side-by-side comparison and direct links to statute text, require paid access.

The site is general information, not legal advice. Read the disclaimer before relying on anything here.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older to buy access. Accounts use email sign-in links instead of passwords, so keep your email account secure. One account is for one person; do not share your access.

Plans and billing

• Monthly, $2.99 per month. Billed by card through Stripe. It renews each month until you cancel.
• Lifetime, $49 once. Paid by card through Stripe or in cryptocurrency through Plisio. It gives paid access for as long as we operate the site, with no further charges.

Charges appear on card statements as AWOL PRESS LLC. Prices may change for new purchases. A price change never applies to a lifetime purchase already made, and we tell monthly subscribers by email before a new price applies to them.

Cancellation and refunds

• Monthly: cancel any time by emailing info@awolpress.com from the address on your account. We cancel within two business days, and access continues to the end of the month you paid for. We do not refund partial months.
• Lifetime by card: email info@awolpress.com within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. After 7 days the purchase is final.
• Lifetime by cryptocurrency: final once the payment confirms, and not refundable.

A refund ends paid access. Nothing here limits any right to a refund that the law gives you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape or download the data in bulk, or resell or republish it;
• share your account or paid access with others;
• interfere with the site, probe it for weaknesses, or get around access limits.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, without refund.

Ownership

The site's text, design, and the selection and arrangement of its data belong to AWOL PRESS LLC. Statutes and government sources linked from the site belong to their publishers. Links to other sites are for convenience; we do not control them.

Changes to the service

We may add, change or remove features. If we stop operating the site, paid access ends, and we will give account holders notice by email where we can.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and current but do not promise that it is complete, error-free, up to date or always available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, AWOL PRESS LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including any decision about travel, residence, registration or compliance. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. We email account holders about changes that affect billing or refunds.
